As greenhouse gas emissions continue to rise, climate change impacts are becoming more acute and frequent, driving the need to ensure climate resilience in infrastructure investments across Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). Natural hazards are exacerbated by climate change, ENSO1 events, and global change that is increasingly volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous. Solutions that can build climate resilience, deliver enhanced infrastructure services, and maintain the valuable ecosystems that humans depend on, are urgently required in LAC to address a range of issues in tandem (IDB and UNEP, 2019).
