Framework for Circular Economy for the AEC

Along with the pressing global issues of climate change and resource depletion, ASEAN recognises that its long-term economic resilience depends on achieving sustainable and inclusive growth. To realise this, ASEAN needs a new economic model that looks beyond the traditional ‘take, make, use, dispose’ economy, and embraces resource efficiency. This is where the circular economy (CE) model1 – one that is restorative, regenerative by design, and makes effective use of materials and energy – comes in.
